CONNECTOLAPP interns in Finland - A Day to Remember: Exploring Nuuksio and Embracing Finnish Culture
Last Wednesday (6.9.2023) was a day that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. As trainees (Laura Harich & Dominik Erman) at LAPP Finland, we had the incredible opportunity to embark on an adventure to Nuuksio National Park, an experience that not only allowed us to connect with nature but also dive deeper into Finnish culture and the warmth of our colleagues.

The air was crisp, and excitement hung in the atmosphere as we eagerly anticipated what lay ahead. Nuuksio is renowned for its pristine wilderness, tranquil lakes, and lush green forests. We could hardly believe our eyes as we looked out over the crystal-clear water, reflecting the vibrant colors of autumn. Our Finnish colleagues shared stories of their memories, and we were touched by their deep connection to nature.
As we trekked along, our colleagues introduced us to the concept of "everyman's rights," a unique Finnish tradition that allows anyone to roam freely in nature, pick berries, and mushrooms, and camp overnight. This sense of freedom and respect for nature was a revelation for us and a testament to the Finnish way of life.
The trainee program at LAPP had not only given us valuable insights into our chosen field, but it had also provided us with a sense of belonging with our Finnish colleagues. We had embraced the Finnish way of life, from sauna sessions to savoring coffee and cinnamon buns during our breaks.
Our visit to Nuuksio was a perfect embodiment of our time in Finland – an unforgettable blend of nature, culture, and warm friendships. We felt like part of the LAPP family, and we were immensely grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in such a supportive environment.
In closing, we'd like to express our sincere gratitude to LAPP Finland for welcoming us with open arms and providing us with a platform to share our experiences. It's been an incredible journey, and we look forward to contributing to the Lapp Automaatio and Lapp Connecto teams, continuing the tradition of excellence that LAPP is known for.
